Broken Arrow Neighbors (BAN) was formed in 1983 through a group of local church congregations who desired to impact hunger in Broken Arrow. From this small food pantry, BAN gradually grew into a thriving basic needs assistance agency offering food, financial assistance, medical, legal and dental clinics, school supplies, holiday assistance and outreach services.
In 2014, BAN embarked upon a capital campaign to raise money for a new facility, designed to meet the growing need for our services. In October 2014, BAN moved into our current 10,000 square foot facility. This new Comprehensive Community Resource Center was specifically designed to gather multiple community services under one roof, enabling BAN to offer a wide range of resources to our clients. We are tremendously grateful to partner with multiple businesses, civic and church groups, individuals and families who work with us. BAN continually re-evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of the services we provide, endeavoring to always look forward to consider how we can better meet the needs that our clients bring to our doors.
In 2020, with a world that looked so different because of the pandemic, our new Executive Director, Megan Quickle, embarked upon transforming BAN once again, to “Neighborhood Curb Side Pick-Up”, with the addition of client appointments, as well as our newest program, “Jump Start”, an exciting new job mentorship program! We are so excited for what the future holds at BAN with the tremendous staff team and amazing volunteers that give it all!
