“Mills joins Broken Arrow Neighbors”
Broken Arrow Ledger – Aug. 14, 2013
Broken Arrow native Chris Mills joins the staff of Broken Arrow Neighbors.
Mills graduated from Broken Arrow in 1993 and for the last 10 years he has been working for the Red Cross and the Tulsa Area United Way.
“I would like to say that I stole him away from the Red Cross. He definitely has nonprofit blood in his veins and has passion in his heart.” said Executive Director Kim Goddard. “When he was at the United Way, he was actually our liason for all six basic needs agencies that make up the United Way. He worked very hard to guide us in a more progressive way as far as partnering with other entities within the organization.”
Mills is married and has three young kids ages 13, 12, and 4.
“When I began working at the United Way it was a way to give back to the community,” Mills said. “But, coming back home my kids are in school here, my family is here, my church is here.”
Mills looks forward to being able to improve the quality of life for people in Broken Arrow. “The donations and volunteer base is outstanding,” Mills said.
