“Back to School Bash delivers again”
Broken Arrow Ledger – Aug. 14, 2013
If you ever wondered if the annual Back To School Bash was popular all one had to do was look at the long line waiting to get inside the Tulsa Technology Center Saturday Aug. 10.
Almost an hour before the 9 a.m. start, the line stretched from the entrance to the parking lot for the eighth edition pre-school, supply party. A steady stream of students from kindergarten to middle school got ready with school supplies, haircuts or immunizations.
But the stars of the BTSB were the back packs. The Broken Arrow Neighbors, Broken Arrow Police Department and the Tulsa Technology Center either handed out some 750 school packages or provided other educational services.
“It was fast and furious until about 10:25 a.m.,” said BA Neighbors’ Executive Director Kim Goddard. “By 11 a.m., all that was left were back packs.”
